Lake Cherokee is a private lake that is approximately 12 miles long, has 50 miles of lake roads and over 100 miles of shoreline. 

 It is located 125 miles east if Dallas and 60 miles west of Shreveport , Louisiana. 

 Driving time to Longview, Kilgore and Henderson averages 20 minutes.

Cherokee Water Company owns a total of over 7,143 acres, including the lake.  There are 668 leased lots on the north side of the lake and 832 leased lots on the south side.

Lake Cherokee has its own security and lake patrol.

There is a private club and a nine-hole golf course available to stockholders with recreational facilities and planned social events such as monthly fish fries.

There are approximately 875 families who call Lake Cherokee "home".  At an average of three people per family on the lake shore, plus the people who live in the immediate area surrounding the lake, that makes our permanent residents a community of over 6,000 people.
